Terms of Service

cvlint (“cvlint”, “we”, “us”) is an online service that analyzes resumes against job descriptions and generates ATS-optimized rewrites. By using the service at cvlint.com or any related subdomain (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service.

You may use the Service anonymously up to the daily free limit. To create an account you must provide a valid email address and authenticate via the providers we support. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secret.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. The Service is not directed at children under 16.

Free plans are subject to monthly usage limits stated on the pricing page. Paid plans renew automatically on a monthly or annual cycle. Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc.; we do not store full card details.

We may change pricing for paid plans on 30 days’ notice by email. Price changes take effect at your next renewal.

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you retain paid access until then. We do not prorate partial months.

EU/UK residents: You have the right to withdraw from a digital service contract within 14 days of subscription start under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, unless you have used the paid features during that period (in which case the right of withdrawal is waived). Email support@cvlint.com to exercise this right.

Outside the EU/UK: Refunds are at our discretion. Email support@cvlint.com within 7 days of charge with the reason and we will respond within 5 business days.

You agree not to:

• Upload resumes or job descriptions that do not belong to you or that you do not have permission to submit.
• Use the Service to mass-generate content for purposes other than your own job search.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our prompts, scoring engine, or model outputs at volume.
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or impersonate other people.
• Circumvent rate limits, spend caps, or other technical controls.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We will refund the unused portion of a paid period if we terminate for any reason other than acceptable-use violation.

You retain ownership of the resumes and job descriptions you upload. You grant cvlint a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service to you (parsing, scoring, generating rewrites, rendering exports) and to operate the Service (cost accounting, rate-limit enforcement, fraud detection).

We do not use your content to train third-party AI models. We do not sell your content. See the Privacy Policy for storage, retention, and deletion.

The rewritten resumes the Service produces are AI-generated suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing them for accuracy before using them in any job application. We do not guarantee that an AI-generated resume will be hired, interviewed, or correctly parsed by every ATS.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, change features, or suspend the Service to investigate abuse. We are not liable for downtime, lost work, or rejected job applications.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in that period or (b) US $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Montreal, Quebec, unless a consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction grants you the right to bring suit at home.
